Globally, as of 4:14 pm CET, Friday, there have been 52,487,476 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,290,653 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 244,283 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 10,724,830, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 10am BJT on Saturday. 

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,728,795. The death toll grew to 128,668.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,810,652. The death toll grew to 164,737.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in France have increased to 1,915,677 with 42,600 deaths.

It is followed by Russia with 1,865,395 infections and 32,156 deaths, Spain with 1,458,591 infections and 40,769 deaths, United Kingdom with 1,321,031 cases and 51,396 deaths, Argentina with 1,296,378 cases and 35,045 deaths, and Colombia with 1,182,697 cases and 33,669 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Italy have increased to 1,107,303 with 44,139 deaths.
