Globally, as of 5:30 pm BJT on Saturday, there have been 52,487,476  confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 1,290,653 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 248,766 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 10,902,224 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 5:30 pm BJT on Saturday.

India has confirmed a total of 8,773,479 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 129,188.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 5,810,652 with 164,737 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 1,915,677 confirmed cases and 42,600 deaths.

Russia has confirmed 1,887,836 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 32,536.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 40,769 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 1,458,591.

The UK has reported 1,321,031 COVID-19 cases and 51,396 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 1,296,378 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 35,045.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 1,182,697, with the number of deaths at 33,669, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by Italy with 44,139 deaths from 1,107,303 infections.
