The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,323,093 with the global confirmed cases reaching 54,826,773 as of 10 am BJT on Tuesday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 10 am BJT, November 17):

The outbreak has now claimed 247,116 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 11,190,611 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker.

India has confirmed a total of 8,845,127 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 130,070.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 5,863,093 with 165,798 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,932,711 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 33,184.

France has recorded 1,916,462 confirmed cases and 42,606 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 41,253 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 1,496,864.

The UK has reported 1,394,295 COVID-19 cases and 52,239 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 1,318,384 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 35,727.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 1,205,217, with the number of deaths at 34,223, according to the JHU virus tracker.

A total of 1,205,881 people in Italy have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 45,229.
