Globally, as of 3:33pm CET, Tuesday, there have been 54,771,888 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,324,249 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 248,429 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 11,342,495, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 9:27 am BJT on Wednesday. 

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,874,290. The death toll grew to 130,519.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,911,758. The death toll grew to 166,699.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in France have increased to 2,087,183 with 46,346 deaths.

It is followed by Russia with 1,954,912 infections and 33,619 deaths, Spain with 1,510,023 infections and 41,688 deaths, United Kingdom with 1,414,359 cases and 52,839 deaths, Argentina with 1,329,005 cases and 36,106 deaths and Italy with 1,238,072 cases and 46,464 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Colombia have increased to 1,211,128 with 34,381 deaths.
