The latest: COVID-19 outbreak worldwide (Updated November 19)

The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,346,741 with the global confirmed cases  reaching 56,108,310 as of 9:30 am BJT on Thursday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Current status (data as of 9:30 am BJT, Nov 19):

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 250,180 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 11,498,515, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 9:30 am BJT on Thursday. 

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,912,907. The death toll grew to 130,993.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,911,758. The death toll grew to 166,699.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in France have increased to 2,115,717 with 46,772 deaths.

It is followed by Russia with 1,975,629 infections and 34,068 deaths, Spain with 1,525,341 infections and 42,039 deaths, United Kingdom with 1,434,002 cases and 53,368 deaths, Argentina with 1,339,337 cases and 36,347 deaths and Italy with 1,272,352 cases and 47,217 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Colombia have increased to 1,218,003 with 34,563 deaths.
