Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Saturday, there have been 56,982,476 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 1,361,847 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 259,231 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 12,106,007 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Saturday.

India has confirmed a total of 9,050,597 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 132,726.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 6,020,164 with 168,613 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

France has recorded 2,160,345 confirmed cases and 48,341 deaths.

Russia has confirmed 2,047,563 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 35,442.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 42,619 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 1,556,730.

The UK has reported 1,477,230 COVID-19 cases and 54,381 deaths from the virus so far.

A total of 1,359,042 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 36,790.

It is followed by Italy with 48,569 deaths from 1,345,767 infections.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 1,233,444, with the number of deaths at 34,929, according to the JHU virus tracker.
