Globally, as of 3:17 pm CET, Tuesday, there have been 46,840,783 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,204,028 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 232,538 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 9,377,579, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 9:24 am BJT on Wednesday. 

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,267,623. The death toll grew to 123,097.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,554,206. The death toll grew to 160,253.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,661,096 with 28,611 deaths.

It is followed by France with 1,461,391 infections and 37,492 deaths, Spain with 1,259,366 infections and 36,495 deaths, Argentina with 1,195,276 cases and 32,052 deaths, Colombia with 1,099,392 cases and 31,847 deaths and United Kingdom with 1,077,099 cases and 47,340 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 933,155 with 92,100 deaths.
