Globally, as of 4:00 pm CET, Wednesday, there have been 47,362,304 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,211,986 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 233,650 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 9,477,239, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 8:25 am BJT on Thursday. 

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,313,876. The death toll grew to 123,611.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,590,025. The death toll grew to 161,106.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,680,579 with 28,996 deaths.

It is followed by France with 1,590,814 infections and 38,727 deaths, Spain with 1,284,408 infections and 38,118 deaths, Argentina with 1,195,276 cases and 32,052 deaths, Colombia with 1,108,084 cases and 32,013 deaths and United Kingdom with 1,102,304 cases and 47,832 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 938,405 with 92,593 deaths.
