Globally, as of 5:46 pm CET, Friday, there have been 48,534,508 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,231,017 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 236,037 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 9,729,962, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 10am BJT on Saturday. 

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,411,724. The death toll grew to 124,985.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,631,181. The death toll grew to 162,015.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,720,063 with 29,654 deaths.

It is followed by France with 1,709,716 infections and 39,916 deaths, Spain with 1,328,832 infections and 38,833 deaths, Argentina with 1,228,814 cases and 33,136 deaths, United Kingdom with 1,149,791 cases and 48,565 deaths, and Colombia with 1,127,733 cases and 32,405 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 949,197 with 93,772 deaths.
