The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,256,869 with the global confirmed cases reaching 50,446,517 as of 5:30 pm BJT on Monday, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 237,574 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 9,972,333, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
India has confirmed a total number of infections to 8,553,657. The death toll grew to 126,611.
Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,664,115. The death toll grew to 162,397.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in France have increased to 1,835,187 with 40,490 deaths.
It is followed by Russia with 1,760,420 infections and 30,292 deaths, Spain with 1,328,832 infections and 38,833 deaths, Argentina with 1,242,182 cases and 33,560 deaths, United Kingdom with 1,195,350 cases and 49,134 deaths, and Colombia with 1,143,887 cases and 32,791 deaths.
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 967,825 with 95,027 deaths.
