Globally, as of 9:30 am BJT on Friday, there have been 33,842,281 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,010,634 deaths, reported to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The outbreak has now claimed 207,771 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 7,276,938 infections, according to a tally run by the Johns Hopkins University as of 10 am BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total of 6,312,584 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 98,678.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 4,810,935 with 143,952 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,179,634 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 20,796.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 835,339, with the number of deaths at 26,196, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Peru has reported 814,829 COVID-19 cases and 32,463 deaths from the virus so far.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 31,973 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 778,607.

It is followed by Mexico with 77,646 deaths from 743,216 infections.

A total of 765,002 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 16,937.

South Africa has recorded 676,084 confirmed cases and 16,866 deaths.
