Globally, as of 5:04 pm CEST on Friday, there have been 34,161,721 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,016,986 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 208,723 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 7,333,425, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 3:23 pm BJT on Saturday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 6,473,544. The death toll grew to 100,842.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 4,880,523. The death toll grew to 145,388.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,188,928 with 20,981 deaths.

It is followed by Colombia with 841,532 infections and 26,397 deaths, Peru with 818,297 infections and 32,535 deaths, Spain with 789,932 cases and 32,086 deaths, Argentina with 779,689 cases and 20,599 deaths and Mexico with 753,090 cases and 78,492 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Africa have increased to 677,833 with 16,909 deaths.
