The total number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has increased to 1,073,751 with the global confirmed cases reaching 37,259,238 as of 8:00 pm BJT on Sunday according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

India’s confirmed coronavirus toll crossed 7 million on Sunday with a number of new cases dipping in recent weeks, even as health experts warn of mask and distancing fatigue setting in.

South Korea on Sunday decided to lower its three-tier social-distancing guidelines to the lowest level as the daily COVID-19 cases stayed relatively low in recent days, according to local media reports.

The COVID-19 death toll in Brazil reached 150,198 on Saturday after 559 more deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said.
