Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Friday, there have been 38,394,169 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 1,089,047 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 221,715 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 8,137,274 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total of 7,370,468 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 112,161.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 5,169,386 with 152,460 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,361,317 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 23,580.

A total of 949,063 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 25,342.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 936,982, with the number of deaths at 28,457, according to the JHU virus tracker.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 33,553 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 921,374.

Peru has reported 859,740 COVID-19 cases and 33,146 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by France with 33,146 deaths from 850,997 infections.

Mexico has recorded 834,910 confirmed cases and 85,285 deaths.
