Globally, as of 2:43 pm CEST on Sunday, there have been 39,596,858 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,107,374 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 219,674 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 8,154,936, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 4:24 pm BJT on Monday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,550,273. The death toll grew to 114,610.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,224,362. The death toll grew to 153,675.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,406,504 with 24,212 deaths.

It is followed by Argentina with 989,680 infections and 26,267 deaths, Colombia with 959,572 infections and 28,970 deaths, France with 938,606 cases and 33,499 deaths, Spain with 936,560 cases and 33,775 deaths and Peru with 868,675 cases and 33,759 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 851,227 with 86,167 deaths.
