Globally, as of 8 pm BJT on Friday, there have been 34,079,542 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,015,963 deaths, reported to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The outbreak has now claimed 207,816 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 7,279,065 infections, according to a tally run by the Johns Hopkins University as of 8 pm BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total of 6,394,068 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 99,773.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 4,847,092 with 144,680 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,188,928 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 20,981.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 835,339, with the number of deaths at 26,196, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Peru has reported 814,829 COVID-19 cases and 32,463 deaths from the virus so far.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 31,973 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 778,607.

A total of 765,002 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 20,288.

It is followed by Mexico with 78,078 deaths from 748,315 infections.

South Africa has recorded 676,084 confirmed cases and 16,866 deaths.
