Globally, as of 10 am BJT on Tuesday, there have been 39,944,882 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 1,111,998 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 224,341 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 8,363,250 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 10 am BJT on Tuesday.

India has confirmed a total of 7,550,273 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 114,610.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 5,250,727 with 154,176 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,406,667 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 24,205.

A total of 1,002,662 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 26,716.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 33,992 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 974,449.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 965,883, with the number of deaths at 29,102, according to the JHU virus tracker.

France has recorded 952,600 confirmed cases and 33,647 deaths.

Peru has reported 868,675 COVID-19 cases and 33,759 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by Mexico with 86,338 deaths from 854,926 infections.
