Globally, as of 2:01 pm CEST on Monday, there have been 39,944,882 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,111,998 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 220,133 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 8,214,754, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 3:24 pm BJT on Tuesday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,597,063. The death toll grew to 115,197.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,250,727. The death toll grew to 154,176.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,406,667 with 24,205 deaths.

It is followed by Argentina with 1,002,662 infections and 26,716 deaths, Spain with 974,449 infections and 33,992 deaths, Colombia with 965,883 cases and 29,102 deaths, France with 952,600 cases and 33,647 deaths and Peru with 868,675 cases and 33,759 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 854,926 with 86,338 deaths.
