Globally, as of 10 am BJT on Wednesday, there have been 40,251,950 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 1,116,131 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 225,233 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 8,430,487 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 10 am BJT on Wednesday.

India has confirmed a total of 7,597,063 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 115,197.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 5,273,954 with 154,837 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,422,775 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 24,473.

A total of 1,018,999 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 27,100.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 34,210 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 988,322.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 974,139, with the number of deaths at 29,272, according to the JHU virus tracker.

France has recorded 973,275 confirmed cases and 33,928 deaths.

Peru has reported 870,876 COVID-19 cases and 33,820 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by Mexico with 86,893 deaths from 860,714 infections.
