Globally, as of 2:45 pm CEST on Thursday, there have been 41,104,946 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,128,325 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 223,051 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 8,409,227, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 3:24 pm BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,761,312. The death toll grew to 117,306.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,323,630. The death toll grew to 155,900.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,453,923 with 25,072 deaths.

It is followed by Argentina with 1,053,650 infections and 27,957 deaths, France with 1,041,991 infections and 34,237 deaths, Spain with 1,026,281 cases and 34,521 deaths, Colombia with 990,373 cases and 29,637 deaths and Peru with 879,876 cases and 33,984 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 874,171 with 87,415 deaths.
