Globally, as of 2:09 pm CET on Sunday, there have been 42,512,186 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,147,301 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 225,215 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 8,633,174, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 9:24 am BJT on Monday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,864,811. The death toll grew to 118,534.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,380,635. The death toll grew to 156,903.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,503,652 with 25,875 deaths.

It is followed by France with 1,130,143 infections and 34,673 deaths, Argentina with 1,090,589 infections and 28,896 deaths, Spain with 1,046,132 cases and 34,752 deaths, Colombia with 1,015,885 cases and 30,000 deaths and Mexico with 886,800 cases and 88,743 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Peru have increased to 886,214 with 34,095 deaths.
