Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Tuesday, there have been 43,147,494 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 1,155,553 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 229,808 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 8,872,077 infections, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 6:30 pm BJT on Tuesday.

India has confirmed a total of 7,946,429 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 119,502.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 5,409,854 with 157,397 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,537,142 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 26,409.

France has recorded 1,209,651 confirmed cases and 35,052 deaths.

A total of 1,102,301 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 29,301.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 35,031 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 1,098,320.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 1,025,052, with the number of deaths at 30,348, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by the UK with 45,088 deaths from 897,740 infections.

Mexico has reported 895,326 COVID-19 cases and 89,171 deaths from the virus so far.
