Globally, as of 3:58 pm CET on Wednesday , there have been 43,766,712 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,163,459 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 227,663 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 8,853,703, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 8:24 am BJT on Thursday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 7,990,322. The death toll grew to 120,010.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 5,468,270. The death toll grew to 158,456.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,553,028 with 26,752 deaths.

It is followed by France with 1,280,346 infections and 35,834 deaths, Spain with 1,136,503 infections and 35,466 deaths, Argentina with 1,130,533 cases and 30,071 deaths, Colombia with 1,041,935 cases and 30,752 deaths and United Kingdom with 945,367 cases and 45,765 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mexico have increased to 901,268 with 89,814 deaths.
