Globally, as of 10 am BJT on Friday, there have been 27,738,179 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 899,916 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 195,433 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 6,530,265 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 10 am BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total of 4,465,863 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 75,062

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 4,238,446 with 129,522 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,042,836 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 18,207.

Peru has reported 702,776 COVID-19 cases and 30,236 deaths from the virus so far.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 686,851, with the number of deaths at 22,053, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by Mexico with 69,649 deaths from 652,364 infections.

South Africa has recorded 644,438 confirmed cases and 15,265 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 29,699 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 554,143.

A total of 524,198 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 10,907.
