Globally, as of 7:08 pm CEST on Friday, there have been 28,040,853 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 906,092 deaths, reported to WHO.

The outbreak has now claimed the lives of at least 193,016 people in the US, the most of any country. The US also leads the world in the number of confirmed infections with 6,445,290, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University as of 4:26 pm BJT on Saturday.

India has confirmed a total number of infections to 4,659,984. The death toll grew to 77,472.

Brazil has confirmed a total number of infections to 4,282,164. The death toll grew to 130,396.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia have increased to 1,053,663 with 18,426 deaths.

It is followed by Peru with 716,670 infections and 30,470 deaths, Colombia with 702,088 infections and 22,518 deaths, Mexico with 658,299 cases and 70,183 deaths, South Africa with 646,398 cases and 15,378 deaths and Spain with 566,326 cases and 29,747 deaths.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Argentina have increased to 535,705 with 11,148 deaths.
