Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Tuesday, there have been 28,918,900 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 922,252 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 198,141 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 6,689,792 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Tuesday.

India has confirmed a total of 4,930,236 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 80,776.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 4,345,610 with 132,006 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,069,873 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 18,723.

Peru has reported 729,619 COVID-19 cases and 30,710 deaths from the virus so far.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 721,892, with the number of deaths at 23,123, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by Mexico with 71,049 deaths from 671,716 infections.

South Africa has recorded 650,749 confirmed cases and 15,499 deaths.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 29,848 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 593,730.

A total of 565,446 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 11,667.
