Globally, as of 6:30 pm BJT on Wednesday, there have been 25,541,380 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 852,000 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 187,901 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 6,202,765 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 6:30 pm BJT on Wednesday.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 3,950,931 with 122,596 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

India has confirmed a total of 3,769,523 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 66,333.

Russia has confirmed 1,001,965 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 17,365.

Peru has reported 657,129 COVID-19 cases and 29,068 deaths from the virus so far.

South Africa has recorded 628,259 confirmed cases and 14,263 deaths.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 624,026, with the number of deaths at 20,050, according to the JHU virus tracker.

It is followed by Mexico with 65,241 deaths from 606,036 infections.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 29,152 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 470,973.

A total of 428,239 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 8,919.
