Globally, as of 10 am BJT on Friday, there have been 31,798,308 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 973,653 deaths, reported the World Health Organization.

The outbreak has now claimed 206,768 lives in the US, the most of any country, with a total of 7,115,304 infections, according to a tally by the 1Point3Acres virus tracker as of 10 am BJT on Friday.

India has confirmed a total of 5,732,518 COVID-19 cases, raising the number of deaths to 91,149.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brazil have increased to 4,657,702 with 139,808 deaths, Johns Hopkins reported.

Russia has confirmed 1,123,976 cases of COVID-19, with the number of deaths at 19,867.

Colombia's confirmed cases have increased to 790,823, with the number of deaths at 24,746, according to the JHU virus tracker.

Peru has reported 782,695 COVID-19 cases and 31,870 deaths from the virus so far.

It is followed by Mexico with 75,439 deaths from 715,457 infections.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 31,118 lives in Spain, bringing the total number of infections to 704,209.

A total of 678,266 people in Argentina have tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll at 14,766.

South Africa has recorded 667,049 confirmed cases and 16,283 deaths.
