Washington will re-evaluate its coronavirus-related restrictions on China as the situation in the country improves, US President Donald Trump said Wednesday, as he announced the United states will suspend all travel between the US and Europe for 30 days beginning Friday.

Trump made the announcement in an Oval Office address to the nation as he seeks to combat a viral pandemic.

"We are monitoring the situation in China and the South Korea, and as their situation improves, we will Are-evaluate the restrictions and warnings that are currently in place for a possible early opening," Trump said.

The US has implemented strict travel restrictions, including temporarily denying entry to foreigners who have been in China during the coronavirus outbreak since early February, in its efforts to stop the virus from spreading in the country.
