DAMASCUS, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Turkey sent new military gears into northeastern Syria on Thursday, the latest military reinforcement to be sent to Turkey-backed rebel groups, state news agency SANA reported.

Four military vehicles outfitted with cannons were sent to areas in the Abu Rasain town in the northern countryside of Hasakah province in northeastern Syria, SANA said.

The report said the military gears are being sent to the Turkey-backed rebel groups in areas stormed by the Turkish forces and Turkey-backed rebels following a Turkish military campaign against the Kurdish forces in northeastern Syria last October.

SANA said the Turkish forces brought also rebels' families from the eastern countryside of the northern province of Aleppo and put them in homes that belong to the residents who fled their homes in northeastern Syria.
