London (People's Daily) - Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the UK, was admitted to hospital for COVID-19 tests on Sunday evening, after ten days of high temperature and COVID-19 symptoms.

According to a Downing Street spokesperson, Johnson is suffering from persistent symptoms for 10 days and has been admitted to hospital for tests as a ‘precautionary step’.

The Prime Minister has been self-isolating since tested positive for COVID-19 on 27th March. Meanwhile, his pregnant partner Carry Symonds said she had spent a week in bed with COVID-19 symptoms.

It is not known yet whether Johnson will be staying in the hospital, but he is still in charge of the government so far. If he is too ill to lead, the foreign secretary Dominic Raab will take over as designated minister.
