London (People's Daily) - UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been moved to intensive care after his condition worsened, according to a Downing Street spokesperson.

Johnson, 55, had been suffering from persistent coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms for ten days before he was admitted to a hospital on Sunday.  His condition has since worsened and, "on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital."

Johnson has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to deputize "where necessary."
