KIEV, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine reported 689 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, its biggest daily jump since the beginning of the country's epidemic, Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said Thursday.

"We have never had such an anti-record. Even in the most difficult times, in April, when the situation was severe, we never had 689 people who fell ill in one day," Stepanov said during a daily briefing.
As of Thursday, the country has recorded a total of 29,070 COVID-19 cases, including 854 deaths and 13,141 recoveries.
On May 20, the Ukrainian government introduced adaptive quarantine starting from May 22 till June 22.
