ADDIS ABABA, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Up to 100,000 Ethiopians and 30,000 third-country nationals are projected to enter Ethiopia from Sudan, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA).

The number of people crossing into Ethiopia from Sudan has so far surpassed 18,500 due to the ongoing situation in Sudan, said the UNOCHA, in its latest situation update on the influx of people from Sudan to its neighbor Ethiopia, late Friday.

"Ethiopia continues to receive people arriving from Sudan since the situation in the latter broke out in mid-April," the UNOCHA said. "Ethiopian returnees, third-country nationals, as well as Sudanese continue to enter the country via its border crossing points in the regions of Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, and Gambella."
