US expresses support for China to confront coronavirus

Washington (People’s Daily) – US President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have expressed their support for China to confront the coronavirus.

Vice President Pence delivered a speech at the White House Monday as part of Lunar New Year celebrations.

Pence said, “President Trump made it clear today that we are in close communication with China. And he has offered President Xi the assistance of the United States of America. And we stand ready to help the people of China confront the coronavirus.”

He continued “the United States of America stands ready — stands ready to assist the people of China and around the world as they deal with this virus.”

He added that the people of China are in the prayers of the American people. “We will stand with them.”

On the same day, US President Trump expressed his concerns about the outbreak of coronavirus in Wuhan.

He tweeted, “We are in very close communication with China concerning the virus. Very few cases reported in USA, but strongly on watch. We have offered China and President Xi any help that is necessary.”
