The just-passed Taiwan-related bill requires the US government to support Taiwan's efforts to consolidate its so-called "diplomatic relations" and to participate in international organizations.

The bill goes as far as to ask the US government to consider “reducing its economic, security, and diplomatic engagement with nations that take serious or significant actions to undermine Taiwan”.

Previously, the bill has already passed the US Senate. In an earlier response to the bill, a spokesperson of China’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has said that the US legislative move “seriously violates international law and basic norms governing international relations, and grossly interferes in China's internal affairs”.
