A fire broke out at an oil refinery near the southern German city of Ingolstadt on September 1 forcing thousands of people to evacuate the area.

According to police reports nine people suffered injuries as a result of a blast at the refinery, with one person heavily injured.
More than 2,000 people had to leave their homes, according to police reports.
The oil refinery is part of the Bayernoil complex in the town of Vohburg near the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt.
Over 200 firefighters were believed to be on the scene and the cause of the blast that happened around 05.15 local time (03.15 GMT) is still unknown. More than 2000 people have been evacuated following a blaze at an oil refinery in Bavaria.
