Under the deal, the two sides will develop content for a program named "Tien Hoc Le"(meaning "study manners first") via the TikTok platform, and the content is set to revolve around the topics of ethical values, civilized behaviors, and practical life skills to keep children safe from violence and abuse, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The department's director Dang Hoa Nam said that in partnering with TikTok, the department wants to approach users of the platform and make use of youths’ influence to disseminate messages on child education and protection.

The program is expected to generate 3,000 videos which will lure 20 million views in total.

TikTok, known as Douyin in China and developed by Beijing-based startup Bytedance, is an app for making and sharing short videos, generally from 15 to 60 seconds long.

Vietnam is currently one of the Southeast Asian countries with the highest growths in TikTok users. The platform had registered 12 million regular users in Vietnam as of the end of March, according to Nguyen Lam Thanh, policy director of TikTok Vietnam.
