Vietnam to hold state funeral for late president

HANOI, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will hold a two-day state funeral for President Tran Dai Quang who died of serious illness on Friday, the Vietnam News Agency reported on Sunday.

During the state funeral on Sept. 26-27, all national flags at governmental agencies will be tied to the pole by a black piece of cloth, and the flags will be flown at half mast.

Besides, all entertainment activities will be officially suspended.

The late president will be buried at a cemetery in Kim Son district in northern Ninh Binh province, his home town on Sept. 27.

Quang was born on Oct. 12, 1956. In April 2016, the National Assembly of Vietnam, the country's top legislature, elected him as the Vietnamese president.
