The White House on Thursday slammed a Florida bill banning most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, with the state's Republican governor expected to sign the measure into law.
"Florida's Republican supermajority-controlled legislature sent an extreme and dangerous new abortion ban to Governor (Ron) DeSantis's desk for signature," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement, adding that "the ban flies in the face of fundamental freedoms."
