Only when all countries unite and cooperate can the world ultimately win the war against COVID-19, said Chinese President Xi Jinping in his phone call with Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno on Tuesday. 
The two countries have supported each other during the hard time, which demonstrated the traditional friendship between the two sides, said Xi, adding that the Chinese side will continue to provide Ecuador with supplies needed and conduct cooperation in various areas, such as vaccine and drug production. 
China hopes that Ecuador will continue to provide security for the work and life of Chinese enterprises and Chinese citizens in the country, he added. 
China will firmly support strengthening macroeconomic policy coordination among countries, so as to promote the world economic stability and improve global governance. 
Citing Lenin Moreno's state visit to China in the year 2018, Xi stressed the consensus reached by the two sides and called for efforts to push the China-Ecuador comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level. 
For his part, Moreno thanks China for its help during the battle against the pandemic, and hopes to learn from China's successful experience in fighting the virus and revitalize economic development.
