On the morning of February 10, President Xi Jinping arrived at the Longfusi commercial area in the Dongcheng district during his inspection tour in Beijing. He stopped by a store belonging to the traditional bakery brand Daoxiangcun to learn about the inheritance of the time-honored brand. Various traditional pastries with cultural elements were on display, showing how the historic brand is embracing new fashion trends.

"I have always followed the development of Beijing's time-honored brands," Xi noted. "Some of them now face challenges in their inheritance and development. How can we stimulate their vitality?"
"It is not about a simple makeover, but about preserving their true essence while improving services across the board," he said.
As the visit coincided with the Little New Year, or Xiaonian in northern China, Xi visited various stalls selling festive goods and purchased some specialties. "Longfusi is filled with a vibrant sense of life," Xi said. "This area has a profound historical and cultural heritage that we must pass on and promote. Beijing, as a millennium-old capital, should achieve the integration of tradition and modernity."
