On August 23, 2016, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited villagers in Banyan village, Huzhu Tu autonomous county, Northwest China's Qinghai Province. Part of the residents, who had long lived in impoverished mountain conditions, had just been resettled as part of a poverty alleviation program.
The relocation project was launched in the village in April 2016 and was completed by March 2017.
A decade on, how have their lives changed? Watch this video to see images and films from before and after the relocation.
