Vegetable shoots have become a newly booming business in New York after many Chinese living in the city have begun to grow vegetables themselves during the coronavirus lockdown.
The World Journal reported that, as many supermarkets and restaurants have closed during the pandemic, merchants are looking for new opportunities.
"Chinese like melon shoots the best, while other customers prefer tomato and pepper shoots," said one vendor working in New York's Chinatown. Even though the number of pedestrians has plunged during the pandemic, her sales are as good as before.
