"The core of new infrastructure is digital infrastructure. It is the digital transformation and upgrading of many traditional industries that can help business-to-business situations, such as the industrial Internet and smart cities, become fully digital and online," said Zhou Hongyi, a CPPCC member and CEO of cyber security company 360 Group in an interview with the People's Daily app during the two sessions.
Talking about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zhou believes the outbreak offers enterprises an opportunity to transform and upgrade their original business models and add modern digital technology to considerably improve them.
Zhou warned that security should be taken into consideration amid the building of new infrastructure. "We cannot wait until new infrastructure is completed and then patch the loopholes, which is only a palliative. We should plan for secure solutions while these digital technologies are applied in new infrastructure," he added.
