SCO at 25: Marching Forward in Unity
As an old Chinese saying goes, "No mountain or ocean can distance people who have shared aspirations." Founded in 2001, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has grown into a comprehensive regional organization with the world's widest geographical coverage, largest population and enormous development potential.
Over the past 25 years, SCO member states have consistently upheld the Shanghai Spirit, deepening cooperation in politics, security, economy and people-to-people exchanges. The SCO has blazed a trail for a new model of regional cooperation and set a fine example for a new type of international relations.
At the new starting point of its 25th anniversary, the SCO is forging ahead toward building a community with a shared future for humanity. To mark the occasion, People's Daily Online presents the documentary "SCO at 25: Marching Forward in Unity." Through 25 years of archival footage and real‑life stories interpreting the Shanghai Spirit, the documentary captures how the SCO translates consensus into concrete actions and pools forces for stability amid global shifts.

25 years on, the SCO remains youthful
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). These 25 years have also witnessed the growth of a generation of young people.
Young people from across the SCO family, though different in language and culture, are connected by the SCO and have become partners sharing a common future.
They believe that through complementary strengths and innovative collaboration, the younger generation will contribute their wisdom and vitality to building an even closer SCO community with a shared future.
From peers who have grown up alongside the SCO to partners who move forward and act together, young people of the SCO will continue to work hand in hand to make our shared home a better place.
